    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    GLASSWYNE.

Rain drizzled down across the field in ocean-like waves, lazily observed by the pinto maiden. She'd waited through much of the night and most of the morning for a break in the clouds so she too could make a spectacular debut like the millions of other souls that had passed through these hallowed grounds, but her patience had grown thin. Altogether it was not an unpleasant kind of rain, falling lightly on her back and stirring up the freshness of the ground itself, but it was a bit hard to appear the slightest bit desirable when one was so rain soaked that her whites took on the pink hue of the skin beneath.

Exhaling slowly, breathing fog into the  chilled air, she  moved forward, pale eyes alert. She didn't expect to be approached by many, she was pretty but not exceptional, but she did want to find a home of her own before the sun set on her third birthday. As far as she was concerned, it was simply a blessing to be out on her own, making her own decisions.
