    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

He's So Bad, But He Does It So Well; Dragonglass
    #3

The Tundra. It was his home. But the pale man was terrified to enter the caves, to join the brotherhood. He was afraid to see his past lover in the caves, Dragonglass. He was afraid that he would remain in the caves, trapped forever. As guilt would once more shatter his broken vase of what he called a heart and, the stallion that he was now would be lost. He didn't want that, he didn't want to leave someone that he had loved and, still loved like that. So, here he was.

His crimson gaze crosses over her obsidian body, all seemed the same. But that little spark that had been in her eyes had been extinguished. That spark, was what he clinged onto the first day he noticed it had be vanquished from all existence. He missed that naive girl, he had once begged to stay in his hopeless herd. He missed her diversity, how she could make one little thing mean so much to him. Yet the girl that was now before him, was not what he was looking for. But something, there last bit of his youth clinged onto the idea that she was still in there.

Her voice remained the same but, it seemed dipped in poison as she pronounced every syllable. Something that caused his pinkened nostrils to flare in a gentle motion,"I've been well. You?" He answers, his words were coated in guilt as another sheepish grin found it's way onto his lips. He looked ridiculous.

He finds himself to continue speaking,"I've settled in the Tundra." He pauses to exhale a shallow breath. "But I'm not apart of the brotherhood. Well not yet." He feels awkward admitting it, he had been in the Tundra for almost two years now and still he remained a coward to enter the caves and receive his scar. He shifts the conversation towards her, "Have you found yourself a kingdom?" His tone is gruff and ghastly and remains as it is usually but, voice cracks find their way into his words meandering safely. To the point where they become hardly apparent.
