PHAEDRUS
He can hear some rustling nearby. Turning back towards the bank a scent fills his nostrils, like a sprig of lavender he reaches out to take in the delicous aroma deep into his lungs. The female scent lures him forward, until he can see the silver toned mare. his eyes take her in, innitial shock stunning him. He can't move, can barely think. This wasn't the mare that he had left, but the scent told him differently. Vianne? His tongue thick with suprise the word catches in his throat barely making it out at all.
The first movement he makes is a flutter of wings then a step forward breaking the water. Fur floating in the surface splayed out from the feathering just above his hoof. He lowers his head slightly, nervous that she would lash out at him. Not that she didn't have every right to do so. Yes its me He is quiet, his voice low and gentle. Tender with regret. He shouldn't have left them for so long. He needed to be more vigulant about caring for their emotions just as he cared for their physical needs. For a dark moment he chastizes himself, he had abondoned them all together. Not even a simple good bye. He couldn't claim to be a protector at all.
His features set in firm resolution. I hope that you fared well while I was away. You certainly look like it. noting the changes that had occured to her he still awed over her new found strength. A new found respect for her developing. He couldn't bring hismelf to promise that it would never happen again. If he were to do that and one day have to go on a mission for the kingdom. It could very well turn out that he would not be able to return for a while. He wouldn't be able to forgive himself for breaking a word. Not now not ever.
She bows and flicks her ears back, he shifts taking a step into the dancing waters until it tickles his belly. Reaching out to her he nibbles at her mane gently carressing her until he nudges her head up his chocolate eyes full of what could be considered remorseful hope. Maybe she could forgive him? He wanted to show his mares the care that he felt for them. Pleasure was something that wasn't meant to be denied to them, but to himself he did not feel that he could successfully raise his own child. Until the day came that he would feel comfortable doing so, well who said a little fun on the side was never allowed?
Of course he would wait until a mare felt comfortable enough to take advantage of his more animalist urges. But why it was assumed that he did not enjoy such basic needs he couldn't fathom. All he knew was that children dirrectly were not something that would be considered in his near future. He was after all just begining to develope the relationships that he had with his mares. He couldn't pick one over another, couldn't tell them that they were just friends either. No for himself he felt like he had a small family within these borders. Each choosing their own way of life, and banding together in times of destress, and other times just to bond over a waning sun.
His entranced moment ends and he shakes his head wondering where the hell those thoughts had come into play, maybe the season was strangely strong. Or was it simply that their were several females here frisky with the need to be maternal? He offers a cheesy smile. I think we have a lot to catch up on. He tenderly bumps the horn, attempting to show her that he had infact noticed.
