Butterflies are self propelled flowers.
Her shrill voice echoes over the Gates’ plains, calling for her blue painted sister, as she cannot seem to find her. That isn’t not too unsurprising though, just like their father Besra had been set out to follow her own path, instead of staying at her mother’s side in the Gates. She was not to blame, as the young woman had seen the changes the light kingdom had gone through. Vlinder hasn’t, Gates was home and it was the only home she knew. It was the place her mother was, the place she was safe.
Well, that wasn’t not entirely true either. As she notices Ellyse the black roan girl instantly flinches, eyes cast down and head dropped closer to the ground. She doesn’t dare to look at the golden girl, afraid to see her shine, where she herself couldn’t. And she cannot help but to feel like she doesn’t even have the right to look at this other girl, and thus allowing Ellyse to outshine her.
Her muscles tense more and with even more effort than before Vlinder tries to keep her wings folded at her side, and although it doesn’t come her entirely natural, she manages to do so. Her blue wings are neatly tucked now, but she can already feel her muscles start acidifying. Like they always do after some time. Slowly – still not really sure if she was ready to face the golden girl – Vlinder lifts her head, her eyes not yet meeting Ellyse’s. As she takes a deep breath she tries to follow the girl’s instructions, straightening her back and taking the pose the other asks of her.
She wasn’t sure why she would follow this girls words, but it were the first clear directions she had ever had. Although both her parents could fly, they couldn’t in this form, and that made things entirely different. Nibbling her lower lip in insecurity Vlinder finally lifts her eyes to meet the other girl’s gaze. ”I.. I don’t know how to..” she finally answers, admitting the harsh truth with a soft voice.

Vlinder
Zeik x Felinae
OOC: I imagine her with normal looking wings. So they are just neat and normally feathered, she just lacks strenght in her muscles to actually fly.. I pictured it like that
. Normal looking, but defected anyway. But Ellyse could tear some feathers out in het taunting? XD they will grow back eventually, but it would be an option haha. Poor vlinder <3
