Three cautious steps forward into the sun.Out of the damp darkness of the cave.Head low she glanced out about the small clearing in the forest before her.Lazily she blinked looking up to the bright morning sky.Silence.It filled the air as she walked into the middle of the clearing looking about eagerly. She had sulked for to long. She needed to get over herself.
Birds began to swoop through the air squirrels hoped through the trees.A fox skittered on its way through the wood.Rabbits watched her pink noses twitching. The overall smell and sound of life filled the air around her.A smile slowly creeped upon her face. The lake.
She soon made her way out of the trees the large lake she adored so highly before her.She stepped up to the murky waters glancing at her reflection.Cuts ran over her hollowed face. Her hazel eyes flickering.Life still existed there. She knew it did.She stepped into the cool waters snorting as it washed over her ridding her from the smell of the cave. She stayed there for a while.Admiring her now clean coat she waded out of the water resting for a moment on the bank. How long had it been sice she visited the meadow? She didnt know.So now she walked there.
Truly it had been only a week or longer but she didnt keep up with the time in the cave.Just that she slept. Then awoke. Then repeated the circle.
As she reached the meadow she offered the few horses there a smile as she dipped her head.Greedily ripping at the grasses filling her stomach. She would have to return to her schedule.Of doing such things.Living.And she would enjoy doing so.Yes the voices in her head would be there. And she would continue to anger herself for no reason, but as for the purpose of living she would return to the rock.Continue to draw out her star patterns. And one day a long time from now when it was done she would show it to someone that shared her love for the night and the stars that lit it up with a sense of peace.
And as a blue butterfly floated on the breeze landing on a bush before her she smiled peace flooding over her like a long awaited wave.
