    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

The second place he heads toward is the Valley. It’s somewhere up in these mountains, Texas knows, but these mountains are dreadfully boring. There are too many rocks and trees, and not nearly enough meadows. The path is steep, and while Texas is conveniently never-winded, he is still a grumbler by nature, and dislikes having to exert actual effort.

He stumbles upon the kingdom almost by accident, catching the scent of other horses on a stray breeze. He might have already crossed the borders (he’s never been here before and can’t say for sure where they are), so he stops where he is and waits. As he waits, he’s wandering about in a small area, looking for something to eat. There’s only strange moss on the large boulders and pine-boughs far out of reach though, and the bay stallion wonders what exactly the residents here eat.

Shaking his grizzled mane out of his face, the lanky stallion finally settles down and leans his weight against a slanted tree. He’s not actually called for anyone to find him (he’s forgotten) and decides that he’s waited quite long enough to deserve a nap. Though he lets his eye lids drop they’re not entirely closed, and his dark ears remain in motion. Sort of a half nap, since he’d rather not get eaten by bears, or whatever it is they keep in the Valley.
