    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

The return of a flat 'nice horns' inspired a short laugh from Tersias. How long could they go on trading nices? She seemed anything but interested in the idea and he had a feeling his imagination would run out pretty quickly, but it was incredibly entertaining for that brief moment.

But they move on to new things, and he discovers that she's capable of more than flat and deadpan deliveries as his question about her scales earns some annoyance. Though he doesn't outwardly show it, he's glad to see it, even if inspiring annoyance in someone may not be the best reaction one could hope for.

His golden eyes watch with interest as her body change, a grin of his own growing as it happens. Shapeshifters are not new to Tersias — if anything, he feels a little more comfortable around the scaled stranger now that he knows this little fact about her. He didn't think shapeshifters were better in any way but they were… familiar.

The flying fox he could shift into was a little less impressive and a little too bite-sized for a dragon to risk it this early in an acquaintanceship.

"I don't blame that part of you either." He admits simply, matching her crooked smile. Existing in the world with other equines sometimes felt tricky. Tersias wasn't convinced he was doing it right at all, though the loneliness had certainly started to outweigh any anxiousness recently and it certainly felt better to try. "Have you always been part dragon?"
