ISRAFEL
Israfel's face blooms into a gentle smile when he repeats the word eggs. That her unfiltered thoughts could be absorbed without mockery is such an unexpected delight that it sends warmth through her. It does not totally dull the edge of her nerves, of course, their sharp points are now just not so jarring. She feels… well, she feels successful. Like she has just passed a test and it makes her confidence just a little more real.
She won't let herself push it, though. One success is thrilling but hardly a sign that she has finally found a way to present herself beyond the hollow mare that she is. A long, silly explanation won't do so she turns her eyes to the stones again and muses softly "You know, from giant birds." A slight, thoughtful pause and then her full golden attention returns back to him "Or dragons, I suppose. But birds are less scary."
She says with the confidence of someone who has never once been chased by a goose.
He introduces himself and this, again, feels like a success. She has officially met someone else! She feels so incredibly proud of herself and that gentle smile grows a little more. There's no telling how long he'll find her interesting enough to continue to stick around and she is determined not to give into the voice of fear reminding her that these feelings of joy won't last.
"I'm Israfel, nice to meet you Selaphiel." It's a pleasant thing to say but she says it so earnestly, so honestly. Because it is nice to meet him, to share a few moments with him, while her bravery holds out. The practical side of her reminds her that she'll disappear into the shadows again eventually, that he'll forget about the strange golden mare who talked of giant eggs. Right now, though, she can still pretend she's someone.
