I’ve bled for less, for sure, then best…
She stood atop a grassy knoll, basking in the meadow’s warmth as the sun soothed her aching bones. Her dark coat had never been able to grow thick in the colder months, which made winter in the Chamber especially difficult. She had tried her best to find shelter from the elements within the thick pines, but on particularly windy days she just couldn’t stay warm. Luckily she knew she would never freeze to death, only suffer through the long months. It was not too long of a trek for her to travel to the meadow from The Chamber, and she felt her relief growing as each step brought her closer to warmth.
She did not mind her solitary existence, though she could feel herself itching for conversation after years of seclusion. She was like a recluse spider, a deadly predator that hid in the shadows alone. Drawing in a deep breath, Shadowmere let it out in a long sigh. Decompressing, and enjoying the sun warming her back and bare neck. If one were to approach her, she would not bare her teeth. Not today, at least. She may be shameless and ambitious, with a murderous history, but her half a century of seclusion made her begin to yearn for some semblance of social interaction.
