Chemdog has always had a specific fondness for this haunted place. The eerie quiet is comforting to him. The presence of the dead is always lingering here as this seems to be a place they like to visit too. There is a lavish cemetery at its core, if one can say that about such a thing. The gravestones chiseled in marble and etched with the most elegant writings as tribute to those lost. Monuments to some of Beqanna’s legends mixed with some of its forgotten souls. Everyone crosses the same veil in the end.
He arrives as a raven three times the size of any organically made creature of the same species, landing with a thud onto a pile of crumbled pillars. The moon’s chrome light casts bright and unhindered from any cloud traffic; the night is clear and chilly. Autumn has come with a soft breath of cold touching the shadowy places of the vast land. He hops down behind the cracked stones and walks out from behind to reveal himself in true form. All the while plumes of glowing smoke curl in his wake, rising from his footsteps as if they’re smoldering in the moonlight.
He’s unaware she is there as he rounds the corner. “Oh,” he stops, flipping both of his ears forward, his teal eyes drinking her in near disbelief. “Well hello.” He sniffs the air, pushing his muzze into the space between them, “I didn’t expect to see any living souls moving about tonight.” He chuckles, drawing his head back and letting one of his ears tip backward. “And alive you are,” she passed the sniff test. “I’m Chem.” his gaze moves to the gravestones in the distance, their stony silhouettes traced in the moon’s generous silver light. “I was just on my way to visit the cemetery. It’s a favorite spot of mine.”
As always, his serpent companion is wrapped securely around a thick braid in his mane, watching.
