ISRAFEL
Israfel laughs lightly at his reaction, glad to have inspired a grin - but she’s not quite bold enough to tell him she’d like for him to be both jealous and impressed. It feels bold to even think that,
She steps back into the light when he steps away, her golden frame returning to sight and with it her cautious smile is something brighter, something a little more real. It feels as though she’s passed some sort of test, that she’s proven herself interesting. His curiosity is catching - Israfel doesn’t know herself well enough to know that the feeling inside of her is the desire to please, especially if it means this colt will continue to stick around a little longer and maybe show her a little of all the things he knows.
For a moment, when his grin slips into a more serious expression, she worries she’s done something wrong. She doesn’t look away from his gaze and is pleased when he speaks and his voice carries more questions about what she can do. His intensity does not faze her, it only serves to make her more interested. She’s a little embarrassed that she hasn’t tried exploring her own powers more but that feeling is easily brushed aside because if she had experimented more, then they wouldn’t be able to do that together.
She can only hope she continues to be interesting.
So Israfel shakes her head to confirm that she has not tried testing out other things. And then, because she trusts his judgement and knowledge of the world far more than she does her own, she asks in an excited whisper. “What else should I try?”
