    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Somehow Anni always seemed to find herself in the Meadow. Surrounded by a bunch of random people who weren't her sister. She needed to fix that, and be better at making sure Mauly was with on her adventures, because they were lots less fun without her partner in crime. Still, ever determined to make the best (most exciting) of her current circumstances, Anni shrugged and opted to frolic in the snow. It was a fun change of pace from the Jungle, which was cozy warm even in the dead of winter. Which, come to think of it, should have been a good reminder that she was straying too far from home.

Ah, but there had been a fluffy rabbit to bound after, and impulse control had never really been Anni's strong suit.

Ah well. Next time. Maybe. If she thought of it. See, this was what Mauly was good at, the thinking thing. The sneaky clever devious thinky bits were her sister's specialty, and Anni mostly just launched herself into things without doing much if any of the planning parts that took much too much standing around pondering. Her body was too fidgety for pondering and plotting and planning and...pontificating? Maybe that was a thing. Might just be random sounds jumbed together, for all she really knew.

    See? Maul's specialty, not hers.

She bounded after another bunny, though this one turned out to be just a shadow, oops. But while she was bounding, she heard a voice with a funny lilt to it say "Hey there lassie." Now, she wasn't sure what a lassie was. Maybe it meant 'you little shit' or 'ravenous little monkey' or something, but it sounded like it was directed at her just by the shape of it or the tone or something. So she stopped, turned around, and answered his next question.

    "Chasin' rabbits, what're you doing?"
