Lilliana was the daughter of a religious man.
Her father always believed in their ancestors and their belief that the winds would always blow them where they were meant to be. As a youth, she had found his confidence in their gods assuring. It had been her mother, Aletta, who had always said that a future was made, not foretold. The stars could point a wanderer in any direction but it was the traveler who ultimately decided to take the journey.
She's always lingered somewhere in the middle of her parent's beliefs.
Some things are always meant to happen. They are like the points in a constellation. How each star was brought into creation didn't matter; it would have happened whether one went dark in another galaxy or a trillion others were born in another. Some things are always fated to happen, however much she might want to rail against it, and the only thing to do was to travel with as much self-awareness and caution that a soul could muster.
You never know when something might fall out of alignment. The path you travel could veer another off their own. Worlds shift and the constant flux of life should be heeded with as much care as one might give to the tides or wax and wane of the moon.
The chestnut mare tries to be aware of as much as she can but raising three children consumes much of her time. There are the nights she stays awake with Leonidas, learning what she can of the cosmos and the galaxies. There are plenty of grandchildren within the Redwoods for her to dote on and Lilliana spends as much time with Reynard, Cheri, and Memorie as she can. There are the concerns that she harbors for Taiga and shares with her son, Yanhua, and the hope she gets with hearing each new idea that he and Amarine dream between them. Borderline helps grow new ideas as well, with each plant and tree that she heals.
Taiga remains much as it has always been; small and quiet and full of ghosts. Lilliana doesn't seek to change that but she has her own ideas for the future and what it could look like beneath these majestic trees. Maintaining peace with Leilan helps that as well as an alliance with Tephra. But there is still more to come, more she will share with her fellow Taigan's but the young stallion approaching her is a step towards that direction.
She keeps a careful eye on a copse tree nearby where the conspiratorial laughter of her youngest set of twins can be heard and the chestnut nods in greeting to @[voracity]. "I don't think we've had the pleasure," she tells him. Lilliana tilts her slender head in his way and smiles, "You've been in Taiga for some time now, yes?"

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura
