They are supposed to make it to the top, but Wysteria does feel something like empathy for the little girl with good intentions who did try. She didn’t stop because she figured she’d gone far enough. She stopped because she could not go any farther, which is a far different thing. After all, the point of the walk really is to prove that they are, in some small way, worthy of what they seek. And Islay seeks very little.
So Wysteria comes, appearing in her usual purple glittering swirls of magic. ”I can make you like the clouds, though it will not keep you from getting cold.” Besides, that was not truly a thing she needed. She had a family that loved her, which was a far greater sort of warmth. ”Go and fetch me a piece of the sky, without the use of your magic. Return with it, and I will make you like the clouds.” She pauses, and as she disappears, her voice comes again. ”Perhaps next time, tell your parents so they do not worry. Do you really think they will stop you?”
Then, she is done.

You have received a quest. Have one thread where you gather a “piece of the sky” (a feather, something that looks like a cloud...doesn’t matter, have fun with it), and then bring it back to Wysteria.
