After a boiling hot summer and a long, trying fall, the cold blackness of winter had arrived, enveloping the land in its grasp and holding tight with each passing sunrise. A heavy snow had recently fallen upon the Field, covering everything there, from flowers to trees to grass to the horses littering the meadow, in a thick blanket of the frigid white powder. Eiria was one of the unlucky ones; she'd been out here in the Field when the storm came down, and bunkered under some of the tall trees to protect herself.
As an adult, Eiria already her her winter coat, but that didn't mean she had to like the unpleasant season. In her opinion, it was far too cold and depressing; she much rather preferred the open, sunny days of spring, even if on occasion there were still some lingering winter breezes here and there. Her dam, Anahi, had all but drilled it into her head that each and every season that came through Beqanna was important for its own reason, even if the now-grown Eiria didn't fully understand. After all, who would appreciate a season like winter, whose breeze and falling snowflakes bit at one's flank like an angry big cat? Or the lava-hot feeling of summer, where on most days it felt like one's skin was melting off their bones?
Eiria didn't like either of those seasons, but she took her dam's teachings with a grain of salt. As long as Anahi was around, Eiria said nothing bad of summer or winter. As soon as she was gone, should the topic come up in conversation, Eiria was quick to voice her opinion and dislike of the winter and summer seasons.
The storm from earlier had eased to a light drizzle by now, visibility now extending past Eiria's eyes by several yards. Earlier, the snow had been falling in such a thick cascade that the mare could hardly see in front of her. Now, it was much easier to once again spot the cliques of horses that populated the Field, everyone practically up to their fetlocks in snow. The storm had only lasted for a short while, which would explain why no horse here was yet buried up to their knees.
Eiria came out from under cover of the tree, glad that the snowfall was done. She gave her coat a good shake to get rid of the cold powder, knowing that if it got a chance to melt it'd only wet her own fur down and make her body temperature even lower. So she did her best to get the majority of it off, succeeding in the long run. There was still some snow here and there, but much less than it had been. If anything, it made the mare laugh, for the snow on her back and croup gave her the appearance of an Appaloosa.
The mare lowered her head and began pushing the snow aside with her muzzle, trying to get the grass underneath. Even though Sylva didn't get a heavy snowfall like this, thereby making the food somewhat easier to reach, Eiria was hungry from her wait here in the Field. She wanted to make sure she had enough strength to get home without taking the time to rest in between; as it was her dam was probably worried enough about her, since Eiria had promised to be home some time ago but got held back by the sudden storm.
As she searched for grass, Eiria's senses tugged at her gut, her instincts telling her that she was being watched and that there was possible danger nearby. Eiria's nostrils flared slightly in an effort to pick up what her instincts did, but she did not see nor smell anything that signaled immediate danger. So, putting her head down again, the mare continued to search for food, oblivious to the stallion's gaze watching her from not too far away.

OOC: I've given Chemdog permission to forcefully claim Eiria and take her from Sylva; I've posted there already to notify them that Eiria will be taking leave from residence there since no one will know that she's been taken. So, technically, her status could just be listed as 'missing' in Sylva since no one saw where she went after she was taken.
