Assailant -- Year 226
"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

ANDRAS Son of Archam X Morigan
Andras was almost two years old, and he figured he should venture out to find some others of interest. He had learned all he could from his father and was ready to take on the lead stallion role of the herd, he should probably find some mares for himself. A smile curled on his lips as he reached the entrance of the field, so many mares out and about chattering with one another. He peacefully scanned the horizon as he walked through the middle, bumping shoulders with the others every now and than. Off in the distance his eyes spotted a beautiful dapple mare, it was nice just to watch her curiously looking for something....what that was he just couldn't figure out. Although after a few moments passed he saw a predator, a cougar, something he has never seen in the flesh and blood. He screamed out to the mare RUN! but it was to late, the cougar pounced after the mare and she took off like lightning. He could not just sit her and watch the mare get eaten, and they were to far away from the others. Andras bolted towards the dapple mare KICK OUT YOUR BACK LEG! he screamed like a banshee but again it was to late, the cougar pounced on the mare and she freaked out, she reared and bucked out like a mad man but the cougar stuck on like a leech. His legs thudded into the ground, carrying him as fast as they would allow as he was near he lowered his head, pointing his horn towards the center of the cougar but he slid to a halt. The mare flipped herself.....she flipped on her back in an attempt to kill the cougar, it was smart but risky Are you okay!! he asked a few steps from the young mare, he waited for her to respond, or get up, he looked for life from the cougar ready to stomp it, or prod it with his horn, something. The brindled mare did not hate anything more than being made fun of for her different coat color. If another was being made fun of for the same thing, she would defend them. No others deserved to be hurt the way she had when she was a foal, even if the horse she was helping was an enemy.
But cougars, and other big cats, were a close second on her list of hated things. The brindled mare had taken a break that day from her duties in the kingdom, deciding to take some time planning on who should be sought to form an alliance with next. Then again, why she was thinking about it, she didn't know. Things like that should be left to the diplomats, like Ashara and Anahi. Raxa was a warrior, a beast bound by an oath of blood and sweat to do everything in her power to protect her home. She might be asked to come along on a diplomatic alliance mission though, so at least allying herself with the necessary knowledge might come in handy. She didn't know if Anahi would be in the mood to seek an alliance this season, as the last three, she'd been content to stay home, not only to learn, but to raise her foals. Maybe this year she'd get off her ass and go within her first two months or so of pregnancy, so that the foal would still be too young for anything to happen to it while it grew. At least, that's what Raxa hoped. She didn't really know anything about foals and the whole pregnancy thing; she'd never had one of her own yet after all. She wasn't exactly eager to either; she wanted to focus on herself, bettering her skills, and earning a worthy place in the kingdom for now. The brindled mare's white muzzle pushed some grass aside while gripping other blades to chew and swallow to fill the hunger in her belly. The autumn grass wasn't the healthiest to eat, nor the most delicious, but it did for now. Raxa's tapered ears flicked back and forth as she listened for any nearby trouble, something a wild horse had to be not he lookout for. Any predator, or some stallion, could be lurking out there. A loud cry echoed in the wind, and Raxa's head went up. Her blue eyes scanned the field around her, spotting the running form of a dappled horse, a large cat on her heels. She spotted a second horse soon after, a young colt by the looks of him. Raxa couldn't tell much from this distance, but the fact that a cougar was involved was enough for her. Raxa took off into a flat-out gallop, whinnying angrily as she approached the mare, the cougar, and the young colt. She arrived there just in time to see the mare flipping herself over onto her back in an effort to crush the big cat. Raxa had to admit, it was a gutsy move, but effective, as she herself had performed it once before when she'd been attacked. The colt questioned the dappled mare if she was okay, something Raxa wanted to voice herself. However, he'd beaten her to the punch. Then, the mare looked down at the big cat, stomping one of her hooves when she noticed the creature trying to get back up on its feet. Raxa whinnied again, and reared up, striking out with her front hooves. She came down right in front of the big cat, though lifted a hoof again, threatening to stomp on it. The cat hissed and lashed out with a paw, slashing a cut down Raxa's front left leg. The mare squealed and came down with her hooves and teeth, the big cat moving out of the way in time. Whinnying in anger again, Raxa chased after the big cat, doing her best to ignore the stinging pain in her front leg. When she'd chased the big cat off a good distance, she slowed to a halt, watching the beast head into the trees. Once she was sure it was safe, Raxa turned and limped back to the mare and the colt, grumbling something about 'big cats' and 'hating them with every fiber of her being' as she stopped beside the two of them. "Did it get you? Any cuts or deep marks?" she asked, cocking her front leg to take the pressure off the bleeding limb. Take me to chruch

Raxa simply glanced away, surprised to be thanked; that hadn't really happened before, "Don't mention it..."
The mare remained pensive as the dappled one gazed over her own body, looking for any marks the cougar had left. As she did so, Raxa took a moment to consider herself lucky. She knew the cougar could've done much worse damage than it had. The wound on her leg was the show of that animal's power. She knew she should be thankful she had won the battle with her life still intact. Yet her pride would not allow her to do such a thing; she knew she'd escaped with her battle instinct and cunning, even if those skills wouldn't outmatch a cougar in full-on fight mode. The dappled mare noticed claw marks along her rump, expressing her distaste for having been wounded before trying to stand up. Raxa wanted to warn her she shouldn't try such a thing, but held her tongue back. It wasn't her place to tell the mare what to do, not if she wanted to try standing with that wound. Raxa was a bit impressed by it, but not by much; the brindled mare herself had seen horses, including herself, with worse. Leaving the mare alone a moment to see if she could stay standing for more than a few minutes with those wounds, Raxa looked at Andras. She didn't know the colt very well; all she was aware of was his sire was the lead stallion of Anahi's herd, and he was a high-ranking warrior. Not that she appreciated that; it meant she had to respect him. As it was, she only barely respected the other admiral, Jedi. Still, this colt looked powerful, like his sire, but that only told Raxa he may not be incredibly self-confident yet. He used the prowess, the image of his sire he possessed to hopefully intimidate others around him. Sadly, that wouldn't work on Raxa. "Doesn't our home have some waterfall that heals wounds?" Raxa asked, blue eyes focused on the colt.

ANDRAS Son of Archam X Morigan
The appaloosa sighed with relief when the dappled mare spoke, she even gave a joke after that encounter. A small chuckle escaped his mouth relieved that everything turned out alright, well at least he thought. The mare did not move, probably from the shock, she just layed there like a kitten waiting to be pet. She announced she couldn't get up and he stepped forward gently nudging her shoulder, although his head quickly glanced to the left at the sound of thundering hooves.Anther approached, it was a roan mare, as she drew near he was quick to pick out the Falls scent. He spent little time in the Kingdom but was preparing to be a warrior like his father was, he grew curious to her position in the kingdom but now was not the time to learn about her. The roan mare inquired about her injuries in which the dapple replied as they were all on her rump. She was laying down still so he could not access the scene, there could be bone visible but they wont know until she lifts herself from the ground. He glanced back at the roan who reared up in an attempt to stomp the cougar who moved under the dapple mare, although she missed. She sorta looked funny doing it and than missing but he said nothing. Finally the dapple mare lifted herself from the ground, he moved closer standing side by side now, allowing there pelts to brush against each other offering support for the dapple mare. He thought about the healing waters the Falls offers but the roan mentioned it first. She looked to him with a question about the waters, how long has she been apart of the Falls that she did not know of there healing water? He gave a dip of his head to the roan and looked for the dapples gaze Yes, we have healing waters in the Falls. Please come back with us so we can heal you.I'm Andras by the way He knew that now was not the time for introductions but he felt rude not introducing himself. It was only proper to give a lady your name after all. He hoped that she would allow them to escort her to the kingdom, dip her body into the water to heal her wounds, she would be free to stay in the kingdom or do as she pleases after that. Raxa watched as Andras went to stand beside the mare in an effort to help keep her on her hooves. The brindled mare almost did the same, but decided to hold back; besides, she wasn't used to helping others like that. Fighting something to help, that was a different story, but offering one's body to be used as a crutch? Yeah, not something she was a fan of.
So, even though it went against her mental nature, the mare walked close to Geisha and Andras, though stayed a little ways away, and in front of them, as if she was leading them back and keeping an eye out for extra trouble while Andras supported the mare. She glanced back to make sure they were okay every so often as they ventured out of the Fields and in the direction of the Falls kingdom. Luckily, it was still fairly early in the day, so even at their current pace, they'd reach the Falls before it got too late in the evening. Still, just in case, Raxa's nerves were on high alert, her eyes and ears constantly scanning the environment around her to watch and listen for any signs of approaching trouble, something they really couldn't afford to run into at this moment.
