Suppressing a growl, Jack seethed quietly as he watched Zain disappear into the shadows. He regretted allowing his anger to surface, especially in front of Eviction. As Zain faded from view, Jack turned to the young colt and comforted him with a gentle nuzzle. "You're safe. Let's gather some apples for your mom and sister and head home," he reassured Eviction, masking his earlier agitation with a cheerful tone. Feeling some relief as Zain vanished, they ventured deeper into the orchard to find untouched trees.
Bending down to Eviction's level, Jack praised him, "You were really brave back there. You can pick an extra apple. Choose some for your mom and sister, and I'll carry those while you pick yours." He smiled and led Eviction to a tree with low-hanging apples, helping him select ripe red and green fruits. Once chosen, they made their way back to the girls.
