hunt or be hunted
The talk of hunting fades away from their conversation. Turning to something interesting and that draws the curiosity of the hound in. Cael clearly had his full attention now, especially when it came to cause a bit of trouble in a kingdom, he did not seem to be quite interested in being under lately. Cael is eager to share her story of disturbing trouble within Loess. She speaks quickly and an obvious happiness from the way she answers his question. The bear mare mentions something about creating a war, dragging healers and keeping them prisoner within Loess. It was something he had heard and was recently confirmed to him when he visited Loess with Mary. However, it was something very minimal to Sinner. Truly he could careless about what sort of trouble Loess was calling unless he wished to bring Sylva into the mess as well. Sylva, from his understanding, did not need to come if called to aid in a possible war. But it definitely could be a benefit to Sylva if there was to be a war outbreak with Loess and the other lands. He smiles silently at those thoughts, but he keeps his focus on Cael. Sinner listens to the rest of her story, keep himself engaged with a nod and shift of his head at her words. Cael is obviously determined to make there be peace within Beqanna and keeping war out of the future to occur. But Sinner does not feel the same. “Loess has no intentions of returning the healers I will tell you that,” he begins, finding his voice in the conversation now. “The kingdom has always relied on being the strongest and if it means by force then it will come to that. And that might as well mean there could be a war if things start to get out of hand.” Would he need to have his own hand in the mess as well in order to achieve what he wanted? Was a war the opportunity to get the crown of the south? It was possible, but he doesn’t press such thoughts right now. Instead he pushes them to the back of his mind. Returning to the conversation, Sinner continues. “From my understanding, it seems Loess wishes to make itself the strongest out of all in Beqanna. And if that means taking what is most desired during the plague then it will happen.” The healers were the key to helping others, and if Loess acquired them all then there would be great things for Loess in the future. Things that could be offered or bargained for healing someone. It was a risky strategy, but Sinner admired the boldness of Castile holding onto the late-king’s mission. “Sometimes there simply cannot be peace as much as we desire it,” he says, watching as Cael holds a deep hope for swaying the new dragon-king’s mind. But he does not wish for peace. Sylva is strong and he knows any one of his residents would be willing to take the chance at claiming Sylva the kingdom of the south. “Of course, we can only hope and fight for what we want without backing down.” But he is not referring to the peace Cale so dearly wants. He wants the crown, and a war would be a possible way for him to claim the very kingship Castile had now. |
