    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Tiana

It has been a long time since Tiana has seen these lands, a year to be exact. Tiana and her mother Azlyn went there separate ways and Tiana disappeared from the Beqanna lands. She has traveled far, and seen many but her heart always told her to return to Beqanna. she wondered if she would ever see her mother again, what the mare looked like, if she was even in Beqanna still.

She hit the entrance of the field and scanned around, a grin curled on her mouth looking at the mares desperately seeking the attention of a stallion. The silver black mare did not need to be controlled by a stallion, but companionship never hurt. She moved forward, walking deeper into the field, these lands were familiar but still very different than she remembers. Summer was just around the corner, the ebony mares pelt grew coated in sweat as the sun beamed on her back. She stopped to rest beneath a tree, providing shade from the suns harsh heat. She gave a look around the field before lowering her neck taking a mouthful of the lush green grass. Her purple forelock fell, draping over her eye. Her head jerked up as a flock of birds flew overhead, her ears followed until they disappeared from the sky. A breeze gently stroked her body, allowing her to relax, closing her eyes until the breeze disappeared. She remembers the field being the recruiting area, she grew curious if that was still its main focus.

    With my speechless calm eyes,
    nothing is coming to rise.

It had been a while since he had last visited the field. Back then he still had been looking for stallions who looked like they would fit to live in the Tundra. The life wasn’t meant just for everybody – not then and not now – and the fact that it had been limited to the males hadn’t made it any easier. Brynmor couldn’t say that requiting was easy now, but with the ranks open to mares they surely did have more choice on who to approach in the field.

She stands out. Not only because her dark coat is clearly visible against the grass (although the winter would set in here soon too), but also her purple mane that makes her different from tons of others in the field. Perhaps it is this prejudice that draws him to her. Other than that she smells different too, the scent of faraway places latches to her skin and neither does she look like a terrified mare that’s simply looking for a herd stallion to protect her.

”Hello” he greets her once he’s within hearing distance. Unlike her you could say that he looks somewhat plain. Every year his coat turned lighter, gray hair shed for white ones, and now he no longer has his kingdom granted wings he’s just another plain horse out there. Except for his blue eyes there is nothing that makes Brynmor stand out. And he doesn’t have to. ”I’m Brynmor, from the Tundra. Would you perhaps be interested in a life among our ranks?” He wouldn’t be himself if he didn’t jump right on the matter at hand. Even when he still had been blind and Hurricane had collected him in the field, he already had been direct. What was the point in circling around the subject if their purposes were so clearly displayed?

OOC: The Tundra's ranks are open to females now too, just in case you missed that ^^
