The world has seemed to come alive again and with it Nemeon is reminded that he is a danger to those living in it. He is already doomed to live only at night, it is further agony to receive the reminder that in his waking hours, when he can finally be around others (and be conscious of it) he can cause the most damage to them simply by being close.

So when his golden eyes transition from stone to gold this sunset, he turns his attention up the mountain and begins his climb. The night is cloudy, obscuring the stars, but the moon peeks out now and then and helps to show his way. His eyes have never seen daylight so they are more accustomed to this night time trek than others, but it is still slow going and he takes his time with it. Part of him worries about dawn, wondering what it would be like to be stuck here on the slopes as a statue throughout the day (is this mountain prone to rockslides?), but he tries not to focus on that.

It has already taken him a couple nights to make it here, another one will not be so terrible.

He reaches the summit very early in the morning, with no hint yet of light yet on the eastern horizon. He breaths deep an encouraging breath and then focuses on his surroundings. Although he's not too sure what to look for, or what to say, he's hoping that someone - or something - will come along to help.

Oh, how they want to come. It is a rare thing, when they want to come, but they know what the boy seeks and it is a thing they would be happy to grant. Something good and lovely and kind, and lately, there has not been nearly enough of that in Beqanna. But there are rules to the world that even the faeries must uphold, and sometimes, their hands are tied. The wind at the top of the mountain sounds almost mournful as it howls around him, but no one comes.
