"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura
The twins have casually been meeting up with Titus, they even met there other sister Venus once....She had an attitude similar to Agave, guess they really were related...There mother and father had no idea that the four had been meeting up...that they even knew each other.
It took a bit on convincing but Titus and Venus finally agreed to return to Nerine...to meet there parents. Agave and Agapi did not brief there parents so they surely could be in for a shock of a lifetime, this meeting was going to either go good...or go terribly wrong.
We are almost there Agapi said in a gentle voice, she was besides Titus as Agave led the four and Venus stayed close to her brother on the opposite side. Oh...and there is probably one more thing we should tell you. Agapi's voice was slightly shaken, a small detail they forgot to mention. Our parents had another child Agave blurted out, she didn't even turn around to see there reactions. Agave! Agapi scolded, she turned her gaze to the other twins yes...a sister..Otrera.
When the four reached the borders Agave wasted no time, she stepped inward and raised her hed allowing a whinny to escape her maw, echoing through the kingdom. Mother and Father were so protective of Agave and Agapi, it would not be long before one of them came seeking out the reason for there calling. Does this look familiar? Agapi said to Titus and Venus as they ventured through Nerine.
Tread Lightly
@[Titus] sorry its sorta short, I figured you could post Titus, and then I would get a post up with Venus/Porcia
one day it's here and then it's gone,
how are you still holding on?
Titus had enjoyed getting to know his younger twin sisters. He never thought he would ever have younger siblings, let alone actually enjoy himself with them too. Even Venus and him had met up again—finally after years apart it seemed. They had rekindled their relationship despite going off on their own separate ways in life. He was at least happy to see that she had given a chance to meeting their younger siblings. It was obviously true they were all related based on the similar personality they all seemed to share.
He had not been a big fan of the idea to return to Nerine. In fact, Titus for the longest time since finding out he had younger siblings did not ever want to return to his birth home and see his parents again. Venus didn’t seem to be up to the idea either. Eventually, they both had given in to return to Nerine. Titus definitely did not have any intention of staying there, especially since he has been building a life within Loess and making something of himself.
Truthfully, he isn’t sure what to expect when he arrives to Nerine. He simply follows them with a mind clouded by thoughts. It was strange following the path towards Nerine. He knew it well enough, but it seemed like it was another lifetime ago that he had been on this pathway to where he was born. Titus looks towards Venus wondering what she is feeling. He doesn’t dare ask, but he can only assume there are similar feelings of his own right now.
Agapi speaks up sometime within their way to Nerine, noting they are almost there. However, it seemed they had forgotten a small detail. “Well,” he says, shocked by hearing the news. He isn’t sure what else could surprise him even more. There was already a lot for him to be taking in. “I honestly can’t tell you that I’m surprised. What more are you hiding from me?” He asks, trying to add a bit of humor into the mix of emotions he is feeling.
Eventually, the group of siblings he is travelling with reaches the border of Nerine. They didn’t need to tell him that he was back home. Already he knew they were there. The border of Nerine. The place where it changed both Venus and his life forever. It was hard to accept being back here, but he put his emotions in check. Now was not the time to let his emotions get the better of him (even if they were on the edge of bursting out at any moment).
They continued forward. Agave went straight for the kill and called out to their parents. His nutmeg gaze searches around them as they move further into Nerine. He expects to see his parents any minute. He isn’t sure how they will react. Will they be happy? Will they cry? Will they welcome both of them back? Anything could happen.
“Oh,” he says, acknowledging Agapi’s question to Venus and him. “Yeah,” he pulls himself together, looking around from where they are currently in the kingdom, “Yeah, yeah. This is definitely the place.” He then falls silent again, not entirely sure what to really say at this point. This probably was the most awkward moment of his life. It could either go completely great or horribly wrong.
son of rome and porcia
male, classic champagne appaloosa, ocelot-shifting, wings
She loved the way it stretched for miles, and miles, and miles, and how then it could just fall away over granite cliffs into the ocean. She’d always thought that standing at the edges of the cliff face could feel like standing at the edges of the earth, and that feeling stirred something inside of her; set her alight with wonder rather than flame. For hours she’d quietly stand watching the tides wax and wane, thinking about falling, about flying, about all the hugely important tiny things that children wonder when they only have the room to.
So, when she sees it on the horizon and the sight of it inspires feelings more akin to dread than passion, it consumes her.
Because the events of the day had shaken her in a way that Agapi hadn’t realized possible before. Before today she’d had no reason to doubt her parents. She’d lived effortlessly, bounding through wildflowers, or flitting from branch to branch as a small sparrow without even gravity to weigh her down. Before today, it had been Agave and Agapi, two halves of one whole with nothing particular threatening or peculiar about them. It was strange and unsettling to think that their entire world had expanded so quickly.
Now there were lost children. Now there were family traits, ones that Agapi did not wield. Now she cannot shake the feeling of not belonging when before she had never stopped to question it. Today everything is different, and if Titus could have been lost, forgotten, what was stopping the same from happening to her? To Agave? She doesn’t speak her worries though. Polite and demure she flutters close to her sister, and to Titus, nodding in quiet agreement whenever a decision is made, even if she isn’t certain.
“Did you miss it here?” She asks, and she isn’t certain if she’s asking because she’s interested in his answer or for herself.
Seize The Moment
So sorry this took so long, guys! I've been struggling with her a bit, but I think I've got it now. Hopefully you like her! @[Agave] @[Titus]
Venus was still unsure of this whole situation, she always wanted to find her way back to Nerine, back to her parents....but Titus held a grudge, because mother and father never came looking for them. She completely understood his emotions, but sometimes she felt it would have been easier to leave and go back to mother and father...rather than stay in Loess fighting for attention, for any bit of affection. She always had her brother to rely on, even though they were living there own lives, and for that reason she tucks in close to her brother.
The solid sibling that goes by Agave seemed to be a little awkward with this whole situation, she herself threw into the conversation that there mother had another child as well....It was not suprising, as favorable as it would have been she never expected her parents to stop living because her and her brother were stolen. Her eyes flicked to Titus, curious to how he would take the news, his reaction was exactly as hers. A relief, a small smile grew on her maw, Agave and Agapi did not seem to bad...she was unsure of the relationship the four would have but she was open to having one with them.
Agapi pipes up, she asks if Nerine looked familiar, and if they missed it here. She looks around the kingdom, it was completely different from Loess and even Ischia that she had visited. As they reached the border her stomach ached with discomfort, the border that her and her brother were stolen from. A faint shadow of the wicked mare who stole them stood off in the distance, Venus shakes her head and when she looks back the shadow was gone. Her mind playing games? She turns back to Agapi It looks familiar, I like Loess though she turns to Titus, awaiting his backup on the topic. Her head casually flicking back from the group and into Nerine, when would there parents come around?
The appaloosa mare was strolling through Nerine, Otrera in tow, the young filly still exploring the world around her. A smile upon her maw as she watches her youngest daughter take in the wonders of the world, the only thing that would make it better is if Rome was here to see it as well. He was always so busy with the kingdom, but I guess it comes with the territory.
Her ears perked as a whinny rings, her head follows suit and he tilts her head. Agave had called out to her, that was certainly odd, Agave was so independent she would never call for her parents unless something was wrong. She quickly turned to Otrera and nudged her Go to the heart of Nerine, quickly! She demands with one final nudge before she turned and quickly cantered in the direction of her daughters call.
It felt like an eternity, the fear she once had with Titus and Venus having gone missing came flooding back. The worst thing of being a parent is not being able to protect your children at every waking moment. She comes to a halt as the twins and two others come into view, she tilts her head curious to the reason Agave called upon her parents. But her eyes quickly grew wide T...t...v....v....the twins. She thinks to herself, she was there mother after all she would never forget who they were. The winged son, the only one of there children born with wings, his beautiful pelt like his fathers. He was so big now, she wondered what a life he had lived, her head turned to Venus who stood beside her brother. The lighter colored mare, what a mare she grew into, they were everything she had imagined, and then some.
ROME....ROME!! She screamed his name, yelling throughout the kingdom, hoping to reach his ears. She was in disbelief, her body ran quickly to her children, all four of them. She ran but the distance did not seem to close, it felt like she was running the opposite direction, why were they here? How did the twins find each other!? They must be looking for her and Rome if they came all this way; She slid to a halt when she finally reached them she extended her maw to her older twins Titus....Venus her voice was shaky. She gently trailed her maw from Titus' cheek to Venus' a smile tugging from ear to ear My babies, I can't believe you are standing here. We missed you so much.... She did not want to dive into the terror of the night or following days of there kidnapping, she just wanted to enjoy this moment with them.
