Questions about trait

So, I have a question or two. Obviously

Tähti has Serial Immortality, and from the description I read that every time she would die of old age, she will be 'reborn' as a young filly/newborn.

So about that:
-Would she need to find a nurse mother to survive or have to live with the fairies until she grows old enough to feed on grass again?
-If she died by any other means, would she still be reborn? If so that would make awesome plots to kill her (accidentally or not) of course... .
