Beqanna
Assailant -- Year 226
"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

The Nokota stallion's long black tail whips from side to side, flies on his hindquarters and sides taking a large amount of his attention away from the allure of the Falls. Its beauty is not lost on him, however, let it not be said that Titanium is a stallion without an appreciation of elegance. Even the air tastes of honey and flowers freshly bloomed. The only thing dampening this gorgeous picture is the damned heat. The nape of the roan's neck is darkened with sweat, and the insects that buzz around him take away from the Falls overall effect. "You don't say," He remarks sarcastically. The tone he takes is not disdain for his surroundings, which he actually appreciates, but rather for Archam's statement of the obvious. If any other horse besides this one had said such, he wouldn't have cared, but as it is his rival, he cannot resist such an easy, dry remark.
He glances back at Silic, wondering if he is as impressed as he is, much as he tries to hide it. He does not particularly care where they make their home, as all places in Beqanna seem equal in principle. He does like this idea, however- staying here in the Falls, annoying Archam. Perhaps a steal now and then. It would certainly keep him on his toes, and many companions would keep his mares happy.

The day had been rather peaceful for the champagne colored mare. As usual, she'd been going about the business of learning to be a diplomat. Perhaps, if the king and queen thought she was ready, she could help them when journeying to other kingdoms to negotiate peaceful deals, or perhaps journey back out into the field herself to maybe find some new faces for the kingdom.
If no one was against it though, Anahi wanted to wait until after the first foaling season was over. She wasn't crying out that she wished for one of her own, but she wished to feel the joy of being a mother again. If the king and queen asked otherwise, of course she would obey, but if she was allowed to do what she wanted, she would wait. She could already imagine a little foal growing up, running through the grassy lands of the Falls by her side... The cool evening breeze jolted Anahi from her thoughts. The champagne mare shook her head before lowering her head for a drink of water. As usual, she'd found a quiet spot by the river to rest for the night. She had plenty of grass to graze on should she get hungry, and a fresh source of water to quench her thirst. All in all, it was a nice, quiet, and well-picked out spot, perfect to raise a foal when spring came around. Archie's neigh echoed up through the air, calling for the members of the kingdom to come to him. Thinking that some more new faces had been brought to the kingdom, Anahi started walking toward the stallion's cry, picking up her pace to a gallop to reach him faster. As she approached, her sides rapidly moving as she caught her breath, Anahi bowed her head as she approached the trio of horses. She greeted the two new ones at first before stepping up to Archam, nickering in greeting as she nuzzled the side of his neck. "You brought new faces to join the Kingdom?" she inquired, giving her mane a light toss to brush it all to one side of her neck.

It was actually beautiful, the mist and spray of the waterfall, the buzzes of life about her, but there might be too much commotion here. All the sounds and new things were a bit overwhelming the first time she stepped into the Falls, though the heat didn't bother her, but the bugs that came with it did. She still didn't like the idea of being ruled over by a King and Queen too much, someone she'd probably barely get to know. Glancing around she quickly covered her interest in the place with a somewhat stern face.
Not long after Archam called for the other horses a dark golden horse showed up, and by the scent it was another mare. She acknowledged the mare by nodding her head back, quite excited to meet another of her gender, but pulled back my ears once she inquired if we came here to stay. "We certainly did not come here to stay, in fact were just passing through the Falls, Isn't that right Titanium?" she exclaimed, though more calmly while eyeing Titanium wanting his reassurance.

Silic sighs and closes her eyes for a bit, noticing her negative behavior and ridding of it, after all it's not nice to be mean and shallow towards them, especially when they just invited her to their home land. She opened her eyes and gave a warm smile.
"Sorry Titanium you don't need to answer that. Let's start over. My name is Silic, it's nice to meet you and your beautiful home. I'd like to spend some more time here to take in the views and meet other horses around the kingdom." she cooed, watching their face expressions for any sign of what they might be thinking. She stepped closer to Titanium and nipped his mane gently, then lowered her head submissively to them. Might as well attempt to make some friends in this world. I may need them in the future, and hopefully they'll forgive me for my rude behavior from earlier. |
