    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

[open]  Where I'm from, the rivers run red
    #11
The young foal continues to watch the strange mare, tucked in close to her mother's side for protection. Her head tilting when she catches sight of the flowers and horns on the other mares head, a questioning forming she glances at her mother, deciding to ask her about it later when she isn't in conversation.

The painted mare continues to follow Myrna, with a glance down at her fragile foal, unable to help the worry she feels for her child.
Her thoughts moving to the safest way to cross the river with a young one in tow, a plan forming that as long as she keeps herself between her foal and the downwards current this should enable her to protect her, even if she stumbled. With a plan in mind she continues to follow Myrna to what she homes will be their new home.
(I'll put a new post in The gates, also sorry for delay, thought I had replied to this previously but maybe forgot to press submit!)
