He’d been worried that he would be completely lost when this moment came, that his absent family would’ve left him in the dark to the romantic ways of the world. After all, there’s never been anyone to educate him on the sensitive places of a woman or how this encounter can lead to children when it’s timed right. As Targaryen feels his heart begin to slow and his breathing calm, he admits to himself that nothing in the world could have prepared him. He had thought about it too much in the beginning, making things awkward, but eventually, he learned to give control to his instincts.
It was better after that, and as he rinses the sweat and smell from his skin, Targaryen thinks that he would like to try again now that he has a better idea of what it’s like. He’s satisfied for now though, and his thoughts turn toward Cheri nearly instantly. He is concerned that he’s hurt her somehow; even though everything felt so natural, there had been moments where she had made noises. His nose moves gently across her warm skin, searching for signs of injury.
When she admits to feeling alright, he gives her a soft, embarrassed smile. Targaryen melts into her kiss, enjoying the way her touch sparks a different set of feelings. He can’t deny he feels different, like they have been tethered together, and yet his heart beats a tune of nervousness. Did she enjoy it? Was she regretting her feelings for him? Will she seek out the other stallion now, if he didn’t live up to her expectations?
He feels soothed as she expresses her thoughts, and Targaryen rests his chin across her back as she nuzzles into his shoulder. He feels even more comfortable knowing that she wants him to stay in Loess, and his answer immediately comes to mind. He had only planned on a day trip, but the tobiano knows it is quickly changing into something longer. “Different and good,” he agrees, and then says, “Of course I will stay.”
