"Child, I hope we can find them."
Leaves swirreled around her, tousling her mane. Keifer hoped she could find the remainder of the sisters before winter came. Such a short time was left before then, and then afterward her foal would show it's face to this lovely world. She smiled, then let out a call uniqe to the Amazons. Keifer could hope that someone would find her, her belly begning to show her precious gem. So many names were swirling in her brain, but she couldn't settle on one.
The air chilled, carrying with it the hint of winter. She shivered at the thought, then hurried into the shelter of the trees. The new mother felt more comfortable among the trees, yet mourned for what was once hers. It wasn't anywhere near the same, the moisture, the warmth, the vines. All that, gone. And why? Because the Beqanna fairy was getting drained.
Her ears swiveled, catching the faint sound of branches snaping.
"I can hear you."
