    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

The dark coloured mare had started her trek up the mountain at a brisk pace before realising how unkind the path was and had slowed her pace to an almost crawl. She had made good time on the lower part of the mountain, picking up an even canter whilst the trail was wide and easy going, only slowing to a trot as the path began to narrow. Now she at a careful walk, aware that one misstep could be her doom. Picking her path through the top of the mountain she avoided looking down for fear of vertigo taking hold, instead she kept her red tinted eyes on the path in front of her as she mapped out the best location to place each of her 4 hooves to make sure she didn't place a hoof on a crumbling part of rocky path.

She was starting to get worried she wasn't going to make it to the peak of the mountain, if she would run out of usable path before hand when she spotted the small clearing she was aiming for. She grinned, as she all but jumped the last part of the rocky path and now she was in the clearing.

Up so high it was cold, she shivered slightly as her breath came out as white mist. The few rays of sunlight hitting her coat revealed the hint of red that tinted the black shades and touching the crimson colour of her horn.
She wasn't sure what she was suppose to do now, other than shouting out hello, i'm come for a quest which to be honest sounded silly in her own head.

Realising she probably needed to say something though she took a deep breath before speaking I apologies if i say the wrong thing, but i'm seeking a quest that may grant me the power of my grandmother, Fire Manipulation. Yer coz saying that out loud at her normal voice volume didn't sound crazy in her mind. As she waited, hoping and praying something would answer her.

(Seeking fire manipulation which is a 4 space trait, she currently doesn't have any traits.)

Small as an ember, the little fairy follows her up the mountain. It does not feel the cold or the wind, only the thrum of magic that flows from the mountain and its own tiny burning heart.

It is too small to grant her wish.

It tries though, when she asks. It tries rising up above her, no larger than a firefly. But it only hovers, hard to see in the bright sunlight.

    Useless.

Something rumbles deep within the Mountain. Only for a moment, and only the sound - the earth remains still.

But the little ember grows larger, large enough to split apart into several glowing orbs that dance about the unicorn. Not quite what she asked for, but the little fairy has done what it can.

You did not roll for a successful quest.
Instead, Devil’s Curse now has the trait Fox Fire, which may be permanent or temporary - your choice. You may return to try again in 2 weeks from your original post, and link this refusal in the post.
