    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

If the stories that he has been told are true, then Ravin’s arrival in the Dale will not be secret. He pointedly makes no effort to go unseen, arriving just after midday, kicking his way through the fallen leaves from the forested, rocky hillsides, with no attempt at silence.

Though the adolescent stallion is not an especially imposing looking creature, there remains a serious set to his brow that had made his sister look twice this morning. Levi had asked where he was going, but he’d refused to answer. He didn’t want to tell her and then fail at it. That would be too embarrassing. Instead he’d grunted and carried on, and accustomed to his moods Luvi had shrugged and gone on her own way as well.

His feathered brow is still creased in that serious frown as Ravin moes through the Dale, but as he nears an especially large rock, he notices a glowing light. That rockface should be shaded at this time of the afternoon, but instead it glows.

Could that be the entity, he wonders? Has he already found it? Feeling rather pleased with himself, Ravin trots closer. The satisfaction turns to his confusion as the young pegasus spots the source of the glowing light. A rock. A glowing rock, but definitely just a rock. It’s twice his size, and Ravin steps nearer, and warily stretches out one feathered wing to prod at it gently.
