"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura
The mare buckled over, realizing she must be due. She blocks out the world, slipping into instincts, and when she thinks again she has two beautiful foals. Twins; they had twins.. A colt and a filly - one red and one black. The colt was black with spattered white markings, while the filly had a bright, bronzed chestnut coat with a similar white pattern. The filly had a white sock, while the colt didn't on that leg. Small differences that made them even more unique. Perfect. She started to dry them, and the filly fell asleep, peaceful and happy in her first slumber.
"Jedi! Twins. They're perfect!" She alerts her love, Jedi, to the foals' existence and walks over, the two wobbling along behind her. "The black one is a colt, the chestnut's a filly. Look, they have white patterns, like you do!" She says after a moment, nuzzling the filly's neck gently as she gives a soft whicker. She moves to nurse, swishing her tail contentedly.
"What should we name them?" She asks him, turning her head to see him with love in her eyes - split between him and the foals - before continuing. "I'm thinking Praelia for our beautiful filly." She suggests, open to any other names.
It felt like forever since he had last seen Sunfall, since there last conversation Kreios has claimed a new land for the equines of the Falls kingdom to gather, as well as new faces. It was nice to have Kreios and the Falls members rather than having to gain trust of the new equines. It was also nice to have Raxa and Sunfall in the same location, even if they didn’t know he is fathering both there foals. Surely they will be identical and it would be hard to keep a secret, they will find out eventually.
It wasn’t that far a walk before Jedi could pick up the scent of foals, and Sunfall was combined with it. His eyes bursted open as his pace quickened, he had to find her and hopefully before the foals came. Although as she came into view he was to late, two spotted foals layed on the ground. His lips curled into a smile as he looked over them, a colt and a filly. They were beautiful, his muzzle brushed over Sunfalls head as he gently nuzzled her, congratulating her for a job well done.
She asked what to name them and mentioned Praelia for the filly he gave a nod That’s a beautiful name he reached his muzzle out to gently touch the filly before his view went to the colt his name shall be Kylo he said proudly, his first born colt. He turned to gaze back at sunfall, he figured by her size that they had twins, but it was amazing now that they were both here.
Zhenga was definitely a curious filly, much like her dam. A trait like that could be good or bad, depending on how one looked at the situation. At the current time, it was a harmless trait, since Zhenga was just bounding around in the meadow grass while her dam grazed not too far away. Raxa definitely kept a close eye on her daughter, but also knew that she was independent, and wouldn't want her dam being an over-the-shoulder parent. So, Raxa respected the filly, and gave her space, as long as Zhenga didn't wander too far.
Today, she would, but still within earshot of her dam. The filly had been born a few weeks before her (unknown) half-siblings, twin foals of her sire, Jedi, and another mare whom her own dam knew. Of course, Zhenga didn't know this, only that the little beings were quite cute when she saw them.
The filly was busy frolicking in the grass, going after various bugs and little woodland creatures when she spotted them. Eventually, she got to a point where she could just barely see her dam, but knew that as long as her dam could still see her, everything would be okay. So, Zhenga was content to play at the top of the hill, until she spotted her sire.
The paint stallion was unmistakable for any other. Glad to see him, the filly raced over, a surprised look making its way onto her face when she saw a mare she didn't know. Who was this strange mare? She had two foals with her, foals that didn't look unlike her sire, Jedi. Either way, Zhenga was intrigued. She made her way over to the adults and foals, smiling brightly as she looked at the little ones.
"They're foals, like me daddy! But they're tiny; why are they smaller than me?" Zhenga asked, not realizing what the word she'd just said could cause trouble.
"Praelia.. Kylo.. They're perfect. It's all-" She starts to say when a reddish roaned filly bounces up to Jedi. Giving a confused look towards the filly, then glancing towards Jedi, she swiveled her ears to the side. She moved closer to Jedi, and saw Raxa somewhat nearby. Talking quietly, so the foals - none of the three - hear her, she asks him something important. "Something you want to tell me?" She asks, her eyes suspicious but guarded - very little could be read from her expressions as she waited for his answer.
