    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Though she kept her distance, Raxa watched the group of horses interact with careful, well-trained eyes. She knew the signs of a traitor when she saw one, but so far, she wasn't picking up any bad vibes from this mare, other than trespassing. Still, that didn't mean Raxa trusted her; the brindled mare had no reason to. Not yet anyways. Raxa was a disciplined horse that had quickly learned to never let outsiders within her reach, to never trust anyone even if they trusted her. She would willingly give her life to save a horse she cared about, but it had been so long since that, well... the trait was pretty much gone now.

Raxa also briefly noted a strange look in Jedi's eyes. She followed his gaze, seeing it was directed at Blazed, a mare she'd heard the name of a couple times from him. Blazed had an angry fire in her eyes, as if she were fuming about something Jedi did.

Raxa almost smirked at her friend, a silent thought playing in her mind, 'What have you done this time?'

Jedi dipped his head in departure before giving a reason he had to leave. He explained to Rael that she was not to wander the territory, something the brindled roan agreed with. He gave an unknown expression towards Sunfall, Blazed's foal, before hurrying to Raxa's side, nodding with his head in the direction of the kingdom. A signal for them to leave.

Wholeheartedly agreeing, Raxa turned and started heading out. Before she did so however, the mare turned her head, aiming an angry glare at Rael for the fact that she was even being allowed to stay. Snorting with displeasure, Raxa's electric blue eyes turned away before she headed off with Jedi, glad to be away from this dramatic scene.

Sunfall looked with an apologetic expression to Jedi, silently thanking him for calling her to reunite with her relative. "I'd love to meet again. Maybe meet again in the meadow? I have to go, as well. Sadly. It was great getting to see you Rael." She says sadly to Rael, watching Jedi with one eye, and caught Raxa give a glare at Rael. She swiveled her ears before looking at the mare once more, then starting towards the central kingdom again with her mother and younger siblings. Hearing Rael's voice, she hurried back over. "Uhh.. Yah.. He's Jedi. And awesome. Don't tell! And sure! Next winter." She says, a bit embarrassed, then turns towards her family again.

"That sounds great!" She says quietly to the grullo mare with a flick of her ears. Watching the mare leave, and noticing the looks given between the two, she thinks of a question as she walks away with her family. "Hey. Are you and him.. Mates?" She asks quietly, and giggles when Sunfall replies yes. "See you next winter?" She asks, and gets a reply of yes. She flick her ears forward happily and nods once, telling her to head to her family. She herself turns towards the herdless inbetween lands and exits the Falls, happy to have met family.
