    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Forum Announcement: Icicle Isle Information
    ICICLE ISLE
    a.k.a. "(p)Isle of Ashes"

    TERRITORY of Nerine

Icicle Isle is a cold and weather-weary place, the ground consisting of mostly granite textures and frozen dirt (permafrost). Snow and ice used to form cracks through the ground, however this is melted away, leaving small crevices. Some pools of water in these cracks have heated up so much they become geysers. To the northern half of the Isle, a strange magical pond can be found, next to the blue Flaming Tree.
The Northern Lights are visible each night when the sun sets, and functions as a possible tourist trap.
There are small meadows of very sturdy grass where one can graze, but it is covered with a quite a bit of soot, and the burned pinewood forest to the west possibly still offers some shelter.
Being a territory of Nerine, we’re allowed to cross as often as we want and it is advised that if you can’t find a meal, you head over there.

    LEADERSHIP AND RANKS

Since Icicle Isle does not attract a lot of residents, there are but two ‘ranks’ that one can get, ‘Resident’ or ‘Leader’.

Leaders are divided into one ruler (the Freyr), and a second-in-command known as their Brodir (or Systir if female). The position is mostly an honorable one and based on strength of character and/or body. The position of Second may be challenged for.
Leaders can be looked up to for guidance and protection, but overall, this is a relatively free country. Meaning that while the leaders will be around to have your back, towards an outsider, you're also expected to be able to deal with your own problems and not continuously bother others with your incapabilities.

Residents (the 'Skuldalid', or family/clan) will be heard by the council or the leader, and are encouraged to take on a job that suits their personality, but are not required to do so.

    ACTIVITIES

Residents of the Isle are encouraged to participate into making the Isle better: that is to build, either with rock and stone to make shelter or to try and help cultivate the soil, or to bring in food from other places. However, if you get in a mess by upsetting the wrong person, don't come crying. You probably should have taken precautions from getting caught, like going in groups or taking home some hostages to make sure that we aren't attacked. We may fix your mess, but it’s possible that you’re not well-liked ever again.

Both recruits and stolen horses must be treated well. There will be no harm done to those we may still need to exchange (insert warning frowny face).
