    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

He had never thought much of himself, he hadn't been obviously unique as a colt. Sure he had a red snip to the right side of his muzzle and 2 red socks on his hind legs, but he never felt it made him stand out. Maybe it was more so that he didn't go seek the attention of others, preferring to be more of a sidelines observer. But eventually that all changed.

He had been in the den, with the other foals, they had been playing some game- he didn't recall now. Well, right in the middle of the game *pop* he was a bunny. A black bunny with pointy ears, a red mark across its face and to red hind feet. Everyone froze, their eyes full of shock and awe. From then on everyone wanted to be around him. Apparently being able to make yourself a rabbit was a commodity that others wanted to be around.

Well, he spent much of his time in rabbit form, it allowed him to avoid the constant attention. Then, there was the day the fangs came in. Talk about a shock. Thiago was eating a wild carrot and then the damn thin got stuck on his tooth, he had to pull it off with his paws-- an awkward thing really. Well, the bunny-horse went to a nearby puddle and looked at his reflection. FANGS- pointy, sharp FANGS. The shock made him "pop" back into horse form, in hopes the fangs were a bunny only look, but they were not. And as it turns out fangs were not a popular gift with the other foals. It scared them and he become the freak.

A few years later he had adjusted to the fangs, and the shifting, he had grown into a man-child. A lanky 2-year-old, who was shy and kind, who looked far more intimidating than he felt. Thiago was lonely and knew he could no longer stand living in the shadowy woods on his on. So maybe now as "grown folk" he would be successful at fitting in. The fanged black horse walked into the meadow, it was time to find out, no more hiding with the rabbits.

someone told me there's a girl out there
with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair

    Summer was her favorite season

The feel of the warmth on her back accompanied by the breeze tugging at her tangled and unkempt mane made her spirit soar. Hippy enjoyed her time by herself, wandering around and just looking at the flowers. The dark muzzle dips to lip at a few of the wildflowers, not ingesting them but just to nudge them and enjoy their pretty faces.

Long limbs pull her though the tall grasses of the meadow, like a large grassy green sea, she is floating across it's vastness till the dark eyes fall to that of a stallion off and alone. Concern furrows her brow and she takes it as her personal mission to introduce herself and coax a smile out of the awkward youth.

He is not much younger than the mustang mare. She can see herself relating to him on different levels (should they get there one day) but as for now a simple greeting would do. Hippy moves on over towards the young stallion with a casual saunter and a curling cooked smile on her lips. "Hi there, stranger." Her tones are high and feminine and quip easily from her lips. "I'm Hippy...never seen you before." There's a smile in her voice and still on her lips as she nears the ruby and ebony male. Sometimes her personality could be a little big and she doesn't realize not everyone was as friendly and open as she.
