    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

[open]  We All Stood Low [Ygritte, Any]

Her young form moved next to the older, slightly wearie form of her mother, the Diplomat Blazed. She was looking towards the edge of the Falls, towards the outer land with a smoky cloud above it - she knew from her mother it was the Chamber. She wondered how many of her family would be spread out by the time she was a matured mare, choosing her path. She knew some were in the Tundra, some in the Cove, some of them in the Falls, here.

For the few days she had been in existence, she had learned a good amount. Her mother was teaching her to control her charisma, and to better keep in check - if she learned to use it by will to persuade, she could control how she influences allies and enemies better. Her mother was actually looking for the queen, Ygritte. She thought she saw the salmon-pointed mare and looked in her way, but it was the flowers on a tree.

BETTER BEWARE, I GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT
DEVIL-MAY-CARE WITH A LUST FOR LIFE

The queen mare had recently been able to rise to her feet. The labor of her recent child, Marlyn, had weakened her to the state of extended bed rest. But perhaps summer had coaxed her to her feet, the small spotted foal was also relentless in getting up and moving, Her tiny body could not be sat still and poor Ygritte was finding herself in distress about constantly corralling the child.

A few weeks had passed since Ygritte had bedded down to birth Marlyn so when she sees the familiar face of Blazed, a smile is creasing her pink tinted lips before a small call is sent forth. The spotted child at her side is bubbling with curiosity and questions but she shies to her mother as they approach the mare and the older girl. "Blazed, good to see you friend." Her tones are low but a bit labored as her strength is still returning. A warm glint is reflected in her eyes as her gaze is met by Mandalocks. "How are you both?" The inquiry is genuine and compassionate as little Marlyn peeks her tiny face from behind Ygritte, splitting the salmon hued tail with her head and peeking around from the bay quarters.

"Marlyn, come say hello, sweet one." The soft tones coax the girl towards them, creeping under her mother's barrel and between her front limbs to stand at Ygritte's breast before looking towards the unknown faces. The spotted princess gives a tiny smile as she is unsure what to do (being only a few days old after all).

The young filly gave a smile at Ygritte's daughter, stepping forward slightly. "Hi." She murmurs softly, lightly, hoping to make friends. Blazed returned the welcome. "Glad to hear you're up and about again, Ygritte." She says gratefully, ears forward and eyes shining warmly, a hind leg cocked as she watched with a smile Mandalock's approach towards the filly.

"Hello, young one." She says softly, almost motherly in tone. "Marilyn." She repeats softly, putting a name to the young one's face. Mandalocks cocks her head playfully and smiles softly as Marilyn steps forwards, coming shyly to greet them. "It's nice to meet you, Marilyn. I'm Mandalocks. You can call me Manda if you want." She greets quietly, hoping to make friends with Marilyn and have a playmate.
