    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Vivianne was still not sure how she had gone into the Meadow with one child and walked out with two. For one thing she was not really the mothering type to begin with, or at least she did not see herself that way. She just sort of let her little daughter wander away without a care in the world. Well, she had certainly learned her lesson with that one. Little Rae had wandered off and found herself a sister. And when she had brought the poor, shivering thing to her of course she could not say no. So she fed them both and then they went home. She knew the Amazons would never turn away any child, much less a girl so she wasn't concerned with that. She was a little concerned with her ability to keep both of them alive. However, as the weeks with both girls seemed to thrive and her worry lessened. Now it was more along the lines of keeping her sanity in tact while watching over them.

At the moment Rae was half-way hunkered down staring down a bright green snake that Vivi hoped wasn't poisonous.

"Sister, sister come look at this pretty snake! Her voice had not dropped any since she had originally discovered her new best friend and sister. She still went full tilt at life and apologized to no one. The bright chestnut filly swung around searching for the other child before she whipped her head back around to eyeball the snake who had just begun a retreat but froze again once the large, exuberant creature was once more watching it.
