do you ever wonder...
...do you ever dream?
Getting involved with Mary had been a mistake. Velk knows that now. Well, he knew that right after he realized she was pregnant. The impulsive choices he made that day sure did make one huge mess. He stayed out of obligation; because he was raised to do the right thing. And, the right thing was to take responsibility for what is yours.
"Are you sure the twins are both yours?
His father's words. Castile's voice echoes in his son's head. At the time, Velk could not be sure. So, he returned to Sylva in an effort to find out. Except, he could never find the right words or, the courage to ask her. Dania bears his vibrant sapphire blue mane and tail while, Daine's mane and tail are a sunset hue like that of a stallion he met ages ago. Raul, he recalls Castile saying. Velk never thought anything of the difference. in fact, he justified the stark contrast with Mary's ability to change her color.
For a split second, the black and white feels his lips curve into a smirk as he thinks back to how Mary used her trait to charm him. Then, Velk catches himself and, immediately, straightens up. His poll lifts and his smile fades. He swallows and then, he presses on. The black and white tovero marches out of the shadows of the Sylvan forest and into the welcoming sun of Loess.
He chose his father's land because he had to leave Sylva. Since Sinner's (and Mary's, by default) traitorous move against his sire, Velk could not associate himself with her. He also could not go home. Neither the Hyaline, nor the Silver Cove feel like home anymore. Not to mention, Velk could not bear to burden his mothers with his mistake. However, Castile already knows. Confidently, the sturdy steed crosses the border and, navigates around the rocky knolls. He does not announce his arrival. He trusts the dragon approves him moving in and, he should know his cologne by now so, Castile would surely locate Velk if, and when, he wanted.
