    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

A little breeze goes a long way

It had felt great to stretch her wings - even if the land was new, air currents were rather similar wherever one went. And from above, the suspicion that Beqanna was indeed an island had been confirmed quickly. She felt more at home here each day, finding the land beautiful and varied, and happy to have befriended Kagerus on one of her first days around here.

That didn't mean that she was happy and had all the friends she needed just yet, though. There was a lot to explore, but as Kage had already told her about the kingdoms, at least she knew where not to go exploring like a total ignorant fool. This is why she had landed in the meadow; not too far from the field, and by the look and smell of it, a common area just like the field had been where she had first entered Beqanna.

For a while, she darted around in it, sticking her nose in flowery grasses and looking around to see who else was around. Small groups of horses, some winged like she, some with other... abilities, were forming, chatting, or disbanding depending on other duties that they might have or families to return to. Soon enough however, she had stopped to look, and after a while, returned her attention to the grass; after all, a horse needed hours and hours of grazing until one had their fill. She enjoyed the little field daisies and dandelions and avoided them easily enough.

After not too long a time, a faint, soft call flew over the grass and flowers, and sure enough, dead-centered, another mare called for attention. Ilma, finding herself at the edge of the meadow, wondered what it is, but it didn't sound urgent to her, so she has found no reason to make haste. However, since nobody else seemed to approach the female right away, the white Andalusian mare did. Not just because she needed more friends immediately, she is patient; but rather because she didn't feel like the one calling out should be standing alone. There's a feeling, that there was a reason for her to call out, and so Ilma's instincts have responded earlier than she herself. When she found herself on the move, she smiled, and when she had finally approached the other female close enough, she outed a soft and warm response.

Any fool knows men and women think differently at times, but the biggest difference is this: men forget, but never forgive; women forgive, but never forget.
