    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

    "But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    I shall never love again...{ Ellyse }

    breaking waves of change
    The sky was light, small flicks of clouds drifted peacefully through the atmosphere as birds looked almost like dots soaring overhead. The land was thawing now, and the grasses, flowers and hibernating animals were starting spring forth from the ground. Not much snow remained, only in higher places but mostly just spotty patches here and there. Naga was glad it was over. She hated snow more than anything in this world. Being without her shifting sucked, but it was not nearly as bad as having to survive (oh the drama) the horrors of going through winter with not a single trace of winter coat. She shook the thought of one more day of winter from her head, dreading next year and hoping she would at least grow a bit more of an underlayer.

    She mosied on, her chubby and compact pony-like body, weaving through trees and avoiding low branches as she followed a dear path through the forest. She liked to venture outside the beaten path, it was always then that she met interesting characters. Some sneaky and cruel, some sweet and enjoyable. Though none have been as much a joy to her as her golden sun goddess...her love that seemed to have disappeared without a single trace. Her beautiful Ashara. She wished she would have had more time with her, she wanted to be with her always, but being within two different kingdoms, so far from one another...it made their love difficult. Their relationship was short...and it was the first she had since Davorin left her and their twin fillies, never to be heard from again. And now, after the shift...there has been no sign of her.

    Finally settling in a spot nearest to the main trail, our feline queen propped herself up against a tall pine,and relaxed. Even though Naga was seemingly happy and ambitious on the outside, and even had the responsibility of running a kingdom. She was still shattered on the inside. She didn't ever think she could love again...being left out cold twice already by two of whom she put all her love into. She was afraid Ashara took her own heart with her when she disappeared. And she doubted she would ever come back to return it to her. For months now, Naga has spent her time alone, no relationships, only the occasional enjoyable chats with Draconis or meeting others in the common lands. After the shift the only productive thing she has done was rounding up the remaining sisters and lead them up the mountain to obtain their new land. Though she is happy with all she has accomplished...she still yearns for someone to share it with.
