    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

The see-through male assessed the girl. She immediately recognized him as her sire, as it was obvious they were related; in fact, if she had been male she might have been a clone-copy.

He however, had not cried, nor spoken for a long while after his birth. The fact that she did, was not a bad thing, he mused. ”You should nurse,” he decided, and took one step backwards looking at the pair. ”When you’re fed and rested, let’s go see what you can do.” he tells the filly - already getting her to get used to training, and subconsciously, implying that spending time with her mother was for food and rest, but not much more.

After all, she had a great deal yet to learn.
No cost too great. No mind to think. No will to break.
No voice to cry out suffering.
