    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

He had roamed the cover of Taiga not long ago swearing he had smelled the scent of a Tephran near by, only to run into the lands leader Aten. He had gone back to Tephra to report back to his Queen, but something inside of him seemed to pull him back once more to the enormous trees of Tiaga.

This time he would not leave until he found what he was looking for. He picked slowly through the maze of trees, calling out into the vastness every few moments and losing his way only a few times before peering into a break of trees to find his bearings of direction.

He stopped deep with in Tiaga's cover, though the sun was high in the day this particular area was delved in shadows and was dense with cover. Hello, anyone there? His ears swiveled teadiously as he heard someone nearby call out in reply to his.

As he slowly walked towards the voice he could sense desperation and fear in the voice. Jakub's body relaxes, becoming soft and gentle in comparison to how he felt. He attempted to follow the scent of the other, but it proved difficult as his nose was doused in the over powering smell of pine needles and bark.

Slowly he followed the faint voice accompanied by the whimpers of fear. As he rounded a particularly large trunk he spotted her, a black, grey and white mare. The sun lightly touched her back. Wane?... Wane she mumbled through the filtered darkness.

He approached her slowly, the sulfuric smell of Tephra growing stronger as he got closer. Are you okay? Are you hurt? he asked gently, concern filling his midnight blue eyes as the gold filtered ray's danced lazily on top. His black coat seemed to shine despite the thickness of the canopy above. He searched her slowly looking for any scrapes or worse. He was close but did not want to startle her more once she found out that indeed he was not Wane, but he hoped he could be a comfort none the less.

and out he came, holding his brothers heel
