    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

does it ever get lonely; titus
    #1
She stalks and prowls and hunts; always alone, ever since her shifter-sister disappeared at the plague’s onset. Most of her time is spent in her wolfskin, comfortable and small - kinda slippery like a shadow. Sawtooth hasn’t become an asset to her brother or his band of renegades yet, but she’s honed some skills in the meantime.

The rest of the time, she is having to content herself with no more visits to the beach to gnaw on their mother’s bones. So she hoards the couple that she retrieved from their burial spots in Loess and has reburied them here in the Pampas. Occasionally she digs one up just to talk to it and feel like she’s close to the mother she never really knew.

Other times, she chews on it like she’s chewing on all her thoughts - some good and some bad. Then the thoughts pass and the chewing ceases; so she hunts or sleeps or plays with her older brother who never says he doesn’t have time for her. Sometimes though, she thinks back to the times that she was much smaller and not quite as grown.

Then she remembers him - the bumbling shy cat-boy, and she scents him on the winds that blow above the tall grasses. Scents him like she does now, following her little nose until her paws lead her right to him and she plops down on her haunches in front of him. “Remember me?” she days between a lolling tongue and a grin.

@[Titus] I felt like they should meet up again ❤️
