the firestarters always get the burns
and the good guys never get the girl
Ilma waits patiently for the girl to respond - when she offers that the filly can come with them, she stands, which is indication in itself that she wants to come, the white mare thinks. However, she is distracted by Finch. He is rather adorable while he does it, yelling Yes! and not-quite-yet bouncing up and down, so she smiles at him even if she shakes her head. "Don't overrun your new sister, Finch." she tells him.
When Finch finally notices the girl's silence, and she nods at his remark. He sounds like he doesn't understand it, and she shrugs at him. "Maybe she can't. But Finch, we can understand what she's saying by how she acts, right?" she offers him; but then he's already smelling her. Oh, well.
Looking back to the girl, Ilma sees that she's standing now, and that she is nodding almost solemnly. "Then I'll call you Kleopatra. Or, Kleo for short, because I think Finch will find that easier." she chuckles and looks at the boy.
