    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

As any daughter would, she truly believed her daddy was the best in all the world.

    How could she not?

He loved on her and her sister equally, with more love and affection than she'd ever seen in any other person they came across. Not a soul could compare to her daddy. Not in looks or kindness, or toughness when he gets that sharper glint in his eye if strange-others come too close. Not a soul could compare.

Momma.. She loved them, too. Zynnie knew it by the way she held the twins close at night, especially if Daddy wasn't around for them to snuggle. She knew it by the soft touches, like she was doing just now too when Momma's velvety nose brushed over her little hip. Zynnie grinned at her over her shoulder, golden brown eyes dancing.

"Hi, Momma! D'you wanna play too?"

She shifted to her momma's side, wiggling in close and tapping a little feather-light kiss on her shoulder like she does for Daddy. Daddy likes those. Her head swiveled to her sister, teeny stern voice and furrowed brow with a little stomp for emphasis. "It's Momma's turn, Zoe. Go away from Daddy." But mostly it was because she wanted to cuddle up with Daddy and have alllll of his attention to herself.
