He is not blind to her emotions as her previously composed features broke apart to reveal the pain that lingered beyond every smile. Gently he presses his nose to the underside of her chin, coaxing her eyes upward. Tentatively she met his gaze, and, for a moment, she lost herself in the blue of them. His voice soothes her, different and yet achingly familiar as it washes over her. One thousand untouched possibilities flood every corner of her mind. Things that were and those that never would be were lost in the reality of that moment beside Svedka.
She knew that it was unfair of her to compare the stallion to the one that she had lost. The kindness of her eyes, the pure unfiltered verve for life sent starbursts through her. She found herself dreading the moment of departure from his side. Absently, she leaned towards the sound of his voice, burying her face into the soft of his neck.
