    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

A child of the stars and the sky, and yet bound to the ground with invisible chains. That was how mother had always described him, referring to both his linage – in special his sire – and his usually dreamy state of being. She would often tell him to not walk with his head in the clouds, whenever she found him daydreaming. Nuage simply couldn’t help himself, by the time his thoughts started drifting, it was often too late already.

Though he had grown from child to young stallion, Nuage is still very much of a dreamer; the type to spend more time lost in thought than in the company of others. However, he could fantasize about such thing for hours and hours, yet when it comes to business, he always finds himself shying away.

It all lead to the gigantic oak near river becoming his best friend. The trunk alone was incredibly wide, and the branches reaching far into the sky. Through touching it, the bay and sky blue stallion does not have any trouble at all to imagine himself touching the said sky. Even in autumn it is impressive, and it still has enough leaves – though they were all rapidly coloring into brown, red, orange and yellow shades – to cast shade across yards of land. Unlike spring and summer the shade isn’t solid, but has sunlight peeking through where leaves had already fallen down.

The leaves crackle which each step, caused by his hooves that slowly cross the distance between himself and the widespread trunk. Nuage can already hear the rushing of water, and the gentle breeze rustling the leaves. He likes those sounds, hence why he is drawn to this place so often. The U-turn river flows a little off to the west from where he’s standing, the declining autumn sun warming his back.

He does not stop at the trunk, only lingering around it for a short while, before turning west. He doesn’t cross the grass meadow, but instead finds shelter in a copse of trees. From there he slips onto the riverbank, intending to drop his head to drink from the water. Instead he finds himself staring at his own reflection; from his sky blue hair to the glowing star, partially hidden from view by his forelock. A good thing, if you’d ask Nuage, the light simply attracted too much attention, and not only equine attention.
