    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

A little breeze goes a long way

The white female could almost feel Lamb's eyes cross her body, but she's used to that by now. She's seen - although she has not spoken many - that the horses of Beqanna have different abilities and perhaps to some, a pair of wings if more desirable than having none or nothing that could be seen. To Ilma, this was just a family inheritance, nothing she's earned or otherwise ever been concerned about, although she did remember that her mother and brothers never carried any feathers.

She knew she was blessed with them here, though. So she let the other female's eyes linger without comment, and took the compliment with grace. "Why, thank you. Yours is really cute, too." she offered with a warm smile. She noted that the other female was more of the silent type than for example, Kagerus. But that's just great - nobody is the same, and neither is better than the other.

Lamb then, mentioned Sylva as her homeland. Ilma smiled some at that, Lamb almost seemed to bring it up as if it were part of her personality. Maybe to her it was, but to the non-native mare, it doesn't matter where any one friend lives. But then being able to fly makes some things easier.

"I just flew over here from Hyaline. It's full of young horses and has a pretty lake, but you might already know," she offers in return. She has yet to know if Hyaline is to be her permanent home or if she's just a guest, and keeps shoved under the rug for a while. "Do you know if Sylva and Hyaline have an alliance? I really don't know much about every kingdom yet," she asked with a bit of a sheepish grin. Oh so smooth of her. First name a herd then tell her you're new, she scolds herself internally. Oh well. Won't be too long to get used to Beqanna, she hopes.

Any fool knows men and women think differently at times, but the biggest difference is this: men forget, but never forgive; women forgive, but never forget.
