    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Don't get too close

Just as he imagined the residents were few and far in between... He had spent some time perched upon the crest of a hill over looking the territory.  He passed this time by lazily grazing upon the soft grasses underfoot.  Silver tail flicked biting insects from his blackish coat, an occasional leg rising swiftly as they gathered in mass numbers on his front pasterns.  His forelock fell over his eyes obstructing the sudden advance of another...

Hearing the softened beat of hooves upon the grassy turf his crown rose sharply.  Tossing his forelock to one side and exposing an ocean blue eye to view the source of commotion.  Watching as the coffee and cream mare pranced about.  One ear fixated on her as she taunted him...

Unamused glance fell upon him as he exhaled a snort of irritation... "Hello to you too." If this was the gaurdian of these lands he understood why there were few that stuck around.  Not very welcoming to visitors obviously.  His kind voice ruffled a bit, " My name is Imperial... And no she is not looking for me." She wouldn't have a need to look for him and he knew where she'd be... along the coast as always.

He thought about asking more questions but he decided she probably would dance around them in avoidance.  She seemed to like games, a hint of amusement in her eyes suggested she was satisfied with herself.  He was not one for games.  No longer a child and even in his younger year there was no time for childish endeavors.  Conditioned to be firm, trained to be ruthless, born to be - kind...

"Who rules this land?" His tone firm as to not encourage games...
