    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Pangea is grey and dismal.

Aditi's first thought is that her bright coat will stick out like a sore thumb, and she cannot help but sigh in exasperation. It will be hard to hide herself here, though it will not matter eventually - she is not the the face of friendliness, after all. Her gait is slow and leisurely as she enters the wasteland. There is no rush to explore the place, considering Rodrik had made it clear that his answer to her question would not come in the near future. Whether or not he answered her was of no real concern to the dappled mare. Now that she was here, within Pangea, their silent accord had been signed and sealed: she would provide Rodrik with her presence, perhaps her intellect if she ever decided to reveal it to him, and he would offer her protection while she resided within his humble abode.

In time, he would discover her usefulness, and there was a chance that their business relationship would flourish, but the Nez Perce mare would simply relax in her new home, at least for now.

She follows a dried riverbed, her ears twitching each time the wind picks up and echoes hauntingly against the canyon walls. On the plus side, she muses to herself, she will not have to feign friendliness, like she would have felt obliged to do in Tephra, with Magnus. The buckskin stallion had been amiable and warm, and Aditi simply could not subject him to her personality, which frequently came across as cold and uncaring.

The black-pointed mare finds a (comfortable?) place near the riverbed, in the general vicinity of some sparse, patchy foliage. Whipping her tail against her flanks nonchalantly, Aditi throws her head upwards and whinnies loudly for her new acquaintance. Part of her yearns to sing-song come out, come out, but she deftly avoids the cliche.

    Now, she waits.
