    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Damn them all to the fiery depths of hell!
First Lagertha leaves her, now Lexa.

Okay, so it wasn’t like either of them left by choice apparently…
Fact of the matter is, they’re both still gone, or so she thought. The meadow has been buzzing like hungry bees growing fat on the honey of gossip and that gossip says that the old battle-axe is back among them again. Well hip-hip-hooray! Riva has stomped her feet, thrown a tantrum, and stayed put. She distrusts the rumors that abound and hasn’t bothered to search out any of the sisters, and they’ve not exactly looked for her either. Hmph!

She is thinking about how she failed as a sister; how she fails to seek them out for one reason or another. Maybe she is considering how a certain stallion and she have hardly parted from each other’s side since this all happened, like how he’s been the only constant in her life - as constant as a star, if Riva gets a little poetic, or maybe that’s romantic? Yuck! She makes a disgusted face and stomps away from her spot in the meadow, which was a lovely patch of trampled grass and churned up dirt. It is as she’s stalking through the grass - there is quite simply no other way to describe how she was moving but to say she was stalking, when she picks up a familiar smell --

    No way!
They had thought her dead, or at the very least, spirited away via magical means and manipulations.
Riva’s head turns to stare at the iron-gray mare; she’s about to swear that she is hallucinating, maybe hit her head on a low-hanging branch of a tree except she doesn’t remember walking under any trees recently. Which means this is most certainly not a hallucination! Still, she is slow in her march towards the old battle-axe and maybe, a little hesitant because she doesn’t quite believe that Lagertha is risen from the dead, from the depths of Hell, from wherever the hell it is that she has been for the last little while.

“Well, what took you so long?”
and naturally, it is said in Riva’s blistering accusatory way as if Lagertha has some explaining to do.
(underneath all the sarcasm and bite, is a grin - she’s happy to see the mare back!)

ooc: dude, it was good enough to kickstart Riva's butt! <3
