    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

She is aware of the Crimson mare, maybe before she was aware of them. Her son spoke fondly of their home as she watched the other. Emerald gazes flicked from the mare and then briefly to her son.

"You will always have room to play here my boy."

Tarvelie smiled, pale mizzle nudging the child's forelock fondly. After a moment the boy curled into the sand, his breath falling into that of a tired colt who had fallen into sleep.

    "Sleep tight Ardashir."

She whispered, wings unfurling to protect her child from the harsh glare of the sun. With no response, she turned her gaze back towards the crimson mark, a sort of challenging look in which protection was laced.

She called for the mare, a soft note upon the salty winds. For if the mare wished to harm them, she would have already. Maybe the blood colored woman just wished for a friend, company.

Just as Tarvelie had sought out in her son.

She glanced down at him then, his head resting upon his shoulder. She smiled softly before quietly pulling herself towards the other, hoping she would meet halfway.

While she trusted the mare (for she was in Nerine, and Nerine was safe) she still wanted her child to be safe. This was the best way she knew how to do so.
