The snows crunching alerted him to her presence, his ears flicked, though he made no move to turn. He glanced to the mare when she stopped on the shore line, her milky eyes distant, blank. He knew, she was blind.
"Hello."
He spoke, voice just as calm as the waters that pulled at his hooves. His head was forward, unturning in his speech. Its not like the mare would notice this, so he stayed still. It was not often that others would join the bay at the shore line, though here they were now. This stranger who stood calmly by his side, though he was unsure if she knew he was even there at all.
"I am Krigare,"
and he fell silent once more.
"Hello."
